2. How your data is stored and shared

Storyboard is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring) and Google Maps. Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Content you create is visible only to members of the family group you join. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with third parties for advertising, and the app contains no ads.

3. Family groups and children

Storyboard accounts are created by adults. A parent or guardian may add child members to their family group and controls what those members can see and do (including whether they can view the family map). The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children outside of a family group managed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has created an account without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

4. Your choices and rights

You can: turn location sharing off (Settings → Privacy & Permissions), disable analytics (same screen), revoke camera/microphone/location permissions in Android system settings, edit or delete any content you created, and delete your account entirely (Settings → Delete account, or see our account deletion page). Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your data and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Email us to exercise any of these rights and we will respond within 30 days.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, location history, board content, health entries, and other personal data are permanently deleted from our production systems within 30 days; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. Crash and analytics data is retained by Google Firebase per its standard retention windows (up to 14 months) and is not tied to your deleted account.

6. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update this page and note it in the app before the changes take effect.
